Burgers and Salads Here are Good.
Dining on the patio at the Coronado location makes for a lovely summer afternoon. Burgers are tasty, meat is cooked just right. It can get pricey, but the fresh flavors are worth it. I tried their house salad with tomatoes, corn, lettuce, queso fresco, jicama, and lemon vinagrette. Very tasty and fresh. I would get the small portion if your not too hungry. Shakes here are decent as well, love it when a restaurant gives you the shake in a glass and gives you the left overs from the mixing tin cup. One shake is more than enough for two.

Creamy Ice Cream and Delightful Little Shop!
I don't know how they do it, but the ice cream is so creamy. My favorite is blackberry chocolate chip in a waffle cone. They hand-roll their waffle cones here and it fits enough ice cream for two. The place is a cute retro shop that is attached to a diner. Another one of my favorites is silly vanilly that is blue in color, but tastes just like vanilla. Just know they only take cash. They have an ATM in the shop, but then you have to pay a fee and who likes to do that?

Basic Plates Are a Great Value
My family and I always come back to this familiar spot. The servers are witty and quick, the food is a good value, and the atmosphere is friendly. The kobe beef ribs are excellent, so are their Udon soups, and their sushi specials never disappoint. Their bento boxes are the best value, you choose one main course and your side dishes. I suggest teriyaki chicken, pot stickers, california roll, etc. Their jalapeno roll is flavorful, not too spicy, and wash it down with a tall Sapporo. Beware: Dinner time is busy, and seating is limited.

Good South Bay Asian Supermarket
I think this is one of the best Asian Supermarkets in the South Bay. It has a variety of products and whenever my recipe calls for Asian ingredients, I know where to turn. Their bakery is also popular, they sell fresh bread for cheap. And where else can you choose your own fish in the seafood section and they fry it for you on the spot? Yummy. I've seen some weird stuff in here too like quail eggs, frozen animal blood, and other interesting items. I like to buy ingredients for miso soup and salmon is cheap here at $5-$6 a pound. Plus they will clean and cut it for you however you want.

Fresh Ingredients, Great Portions!
A small chicken Pho soup is enough for me. My friends ask for light noodles, but I LOVE the rice noodles. The food always tastes fresh, the chicken pieces are tender and fresh (unlike some places that serve deli style chicken that is rubbery). If you want a meat Pho, you have your choice of meat combinations (flank, tripe, fat, etc.) Not really my thing, but it looks like the popular choice. I stick with chicken, really hits the spot on a gloomy day or if I'm catching a cold. Prices are reasonable here. Beware: service is spotty, you usually have to hound them for water refills, silverware, sauces, etc.
