My contractor bought an unspecified amount of materials from Meeks for work an a Nevada Historic site - the original "carriage house" in Genoa, NV.

At the end of his job, he gave me a document telling me that he had paid off all suppliers (lien release).

119 days after the job was completed, Meeks placed a lien on the site for $12,000. I never received receipts from Meeks even showing that what they are placing a lien for was actually used in the site!

I have contacted Meeks telling them that the lien they placed was past the 90 days as stipulated by NV law, and that I had a lien release from my contractor. In other words, they should be after him, not me, since I have a receipt that I paid him in full and that he had paid them.

I am incredibly surprised by the business practices of Meeks, and will not buy ANYTHING from them ever again.

I now understand the Meek's logo - "The Contractor's Choice"! If the contractor does not pay them, they go after the customer, even if he has proof he has paid the contractor...
