It was late at night and we had just arrived in Crystal River. There wasn't a huge selection of restaurants to pick from. Charlie's was an interesting place but the service was so very very slow. My food was forgettable - I think I had shrimp. However what was memorable was we had alligator as an appetizer. It did taste a bit like chicken!

When you drive by and see this restaurant is in a basement of an old brownstone, you might not know what you were getting into But this is a great casual, no frills seafood place. The oysters, crab legs, mussels, etc. are superior with superior Price's Considering Chicago is quite a distance from the ocean, the seafood is as fresh as if you were in San Francisco or Maine!

Known as "the church for those who don't like going to church" - this is a toddler among churches. It's less than a dozen years old and has a congregation of over 10,000. Those numbers may sound scary, but you are always welcomed and greeted on every visit. Small groups will get you connected with other people and something is going on all the time - from knitting groups to book clubs to adventure sports to mission trips overseas. You will not be bored here. The music is contemporary and the messages are all biblically based.

I like the idea of the Mongolian stir fry grill where you put frozen meat, fresh noodles and veggies in a bowl and they cook it for you. The variety of foods tends to remain constant from one Mongolian BBQ to another around here. However, this location does two things that bother me. The first is they will not allow you to take home your leftovers. It is not buffet style so you can't go back and refill your bowl, have it cooked and then take it home. I do not know why they encourage you to eat past capacity or leave with food still in your bowl. My second gripe is they do not give you a fresh bowl after they finish cooking your food. Other BBQ places take your bowl of uncooked foods, empty it onto the hot grill and then put it into a fresh bowl. I don't like the idea of cooked foods placed back into a bowl that had contained raw meats.

Raley's and Bel Air are the two major grocery stores here in Northern California. I know I pay more for groceries there than practically anywhere else. But the quality of meats, fish and produce are fabulous. My review today is specifically for the Granite Bay store. I've been in there 3 times - every time enlisting the store's help for our church. Karen Dooley is the store manager there. Kudos to her and Lynn and Natalie (I'm sure there are others too). They helped me acquire over 8000 individual servings of ice cream for our children's camp! Not only did they bring to cost down to within our budget, they stored this massive amount of ice cream until the day of our need. The quality of their time spent with me and my staff was priceless and so appreciated
