Had WP install a solar system I purchased from another source. They 'forgot' to install the drip tubes. This is a critical component of a solar hot water system. If not installed, temp guages do not read correctly, hot water stratifies, and the heat exchangers and pumps can overheat and plug. (had to replace one pump and am in process of pricing a heat exchanger which has also failed; see above, cost can reach $500 and above) System was leaking so called to have the pipes tightened and drip tubes intstalled. Even though the glycol in the system had to be drained and replaced to install drip tubes, I was billed for service call. Larry is solar guy and was up front; he made a mistake. Owners see it differently; opportunity for a bill. The phone rep (owners wife) will call you for 'the money', but has little concern about problems with the system.
Asked for estimate to install a watering system, was charged for a service call. The owner of WP met with a person (my representative who took notes) who had previously worked for landscape co. for 10yrs and supervised numerous watering system installs. He said there was no real info. given. Notes back that up. Relayed that to owner; response was "your guy is a lying sack of ____!" So I requested something to justify svc. charge was sent a photo from brochure (really) and the cost written in the corner. That was it. Oh right, and the bill.
