On April 21st 2010, I submitted the following question to Wichita Valley Landscape Services: "My name is Collin and I own a home near Sheppard AFB, just off of Missile Road. I have a problem of water pooling in an area next to my house in the back yard. I would need the low area either graded or landscaped so that the water no longer pools. I am looking for a quote." Their reply: "You simply fill in the low spot with fill sand. I charge $70 per hr. plus cost of material. How can I do a reasonable estimate without knowing how large the area is?? Email back length and width of area.....OK?? Thanks, Paul Dowlearn" My Reply: "I wrote a few different landscape companies, along with yours. I am an Air Force pilot, not a landscaper, I don't know what information you need to know in order to quote me a price. All of the other companies offered to come out to my home so as to quote the project and look into all options available. Your e-mail came across very unprofessional. I am no longer interested in doing business with your company." Their Reply: "I have been doing this for 30 years and I'm experienced enough to estimate some things without the need to "Look at it." Glad you found someone who has the time..........I'm busy. Hope you don't get ripped off.....P" These are cut and pasted from my e-mail. You be the judge on your own. I would not spend a cent with this business.
