Woodlands Resort is a consistent award winner. It is surrounded by tall pine and oak trees on 42 acres. Most of the 19 guest rooms have fireplaces and jacuzzis. The dinning room is internationally renown for the cuisine, elegance, and service. Pool and game tables are in the parlor.

Wild Dunes has a nice pool area and a boardwalk to the beach. The area has a nice view. You can choose a room at the Inn or a villa. The villas are more like a time share condo with a deck. Individually owned vills are rented in the owner's absence, so condition and state of repair is hit and miss. Weekly housekeeping is provided for those units, but you can arrange for daily towel service and trash pick-up. Wild Dunes is building new suites and penthouses. A portion of the beach by the villas is off limits during high tide, but the resort will shuttle you down farther where you have plenty of beach to enjoy. The resort has two 18 hole golf courses, a tennis center with 17 courts, a day spa, a workout gym, bike rentals, fishing trips, water sports, and family designed activities.

This restaurant looks awesome. The building was built in 1834. The brick walls are the only left that looks old. Everything else about is renovated. It is spacious with an open feel. Two levels have an open part all the way up. Some large round lights on the ceiling changes colors. It sort of feels like a 70's disco lighting. A wall of wine bottles holds over 5000 bottles. Everyone can find something they like on the menu: steak, chicken, lamb, pork, seafood. I order the Steak Diane. There are a variety of sides. The dessert menu has cakes and pies that are delicious.

Voted for Circa 1886
Circa 1886 restaurant has a more formal dining room in a carriage house behind the Wentworth Mansion. The crabmeat souffle is good. Also try the grilled shrimp with fried green tomatoes. The crunchy sweet potatoes are horrible.

Voted for Jack's Cafe
The burgers and fries are large and taste great. Jack's serves an even better breakfast. Omelettes are thick and stuffed full of ham and cheese. Biscuits are made fresh and the gravy has a lot of flavor. The grits are the best in town.
