Dermatology is the medical & surgical treatment of skin disease, hair and nails. Skin cancer surgery and treatment are a significant part of our specialty. We treat adults and children of all ages & welcome new patients! Special Procedures offer the following procedures: skin surgery (cancer and cosmetic), cryosurgery, Botox, fillers, skin peels, allergy testing & photo chemotherapy (light treatments). Mohs Micrographic Surgery MOHS Micrographic Surgery is an advanced form of treatment for skin cancer. Mohs surgery is to remove all of the tumor while limiting healthy tissue damage as much possible. The procedure starts with removing one layer of the tumor and examining it with a microscope. Doctors are able to determine if the cancer is gone using a sophisticated mapping system. If remaining cancer cells are identified then the physician removes another layer and examines it and so on until the cancer is removed. This surgery is performed in our skin surgery Office located at 7A Cleveland Court (ext. 153). Psoriasis Treatment Center this office provides a complete psoriasis treatment facility with a full time therapist and equipment designed to improve patient care. Skin Pathology - for skin surgeries the surgical specimen will be sent to a lab to determine the nature of the lesion. The specimen is sent to a Dermatopathology Consultation Service, specialists in skin pathology. Some managed care insurance companies require that we use other labs such as Quest or LabCorp.
