LIVE ART @ the MojoPages Trunk Show Soiree
0 Comments Published by steph November 13th, 2008 in News, Video, Business, events, steph, Fun.Last week at the MojoPages Trunk Show Soiree, we were lucky to have Koerce Media provide some talented artists as they performed Live Art…
FYI: Live art painting is something special that many people don’t always appreciate. It takes time to develop and master. Watching art go up in the moment can leave some people not understanding it completely. For others it gives insight and knowledge into art.
For those who missed it, and for those who want to experience it one more time, check out the video here: http://www.vimeo.com/2218320
Thanks Rogan & Christopher Blaikie (the artist) - you rock!!!
Oh what a night!

No TagsDIY Halloween Costumes…. on a Budget!!!
0 Comments Published by steph October 17th, 2008 in News, advice, steph, Fun.
Halloween is just a couple weeks away and for many of us we’ve been counting down the days. The kids can’t wait to stay up late and receive free candy while adults have an excuse to play dress up if only for a night! And if you need tips on where to get your costume, check out reviews on MojoPages.com to help lead the way.
But if you’re on a budget and want to go the homemade costume route, here are some easy and inexpensive ideas:
1. Cereal Killer - Wear a plain t-shirt and pants. Pin or glue empty mini cereal boxes on the shirt and stab each of the boxes with plastic knives. Use red paint or lipstick to mimic blood coming out of the ‘knife wounds.’ Best of all, depending on how many cereal boxes you use, you have breakfast to feed a family for a week!
2. Runaway Bride - If you’re dying to wear your wedding gown just one more time, simply pair it with some running shoes and voila…you’re the runaway bride!
3. Chia Pet - Wrap yourself in duct tape, with the sticky side facing out. Then go roll around on your lawn so the grass sticks to you. Easy and fun!
4. Super Mario - Pair a pair of bright overalls with a red long sleeve shirt. Add a big fake mustache and large white gloves and you’re ready to go. Have a friend wear the same outfit only with a long sleeve green shirt and you can be the Super Mario Bros!
5. Foosball Player - Start by dressing up as a soccer player. Then add a broomstick inside your shirt, over your shoulders. Get a whole group together and you can have an entire team for the night!
These clever costumes are fun and simple to make, but most importantly easy on your budget! Now that’s a (trick or) TREAT!
For those of you who missed it…the MojoPages Party last night was a huge success! Hope everyone had as much fun as I did. We just posted the pics on MojoPages.com - click here or go to:

Many thanks to all our awesome sponsors:
Best of all we raised a bunch of money for Keep-A-Breast and had a blast doing it!
Next one is Oct. 30 - save the date!!!
No TagsDon’t miss the 2nd installment of our never-ending series of San Diego Community Parties. In collaboration with Fit, the MojoPages Heart-y Party (heart and Fit, clever right?) will support the Keep-a-Breast Foundation and is sure to be tons of fun for our VIP Local Gurus, MojoPages members and guests experiencing Mojo for the first time.
Taking place Thursday, Oct. 2nd at the beautiful Hotel Solamar’s rooftop J Bar, attendees will enjoy:
- Happy Hour drink specials thru 9pm
- Delicious apps and specialty Mojo cocktails
- Relaxing massages by Blue Star Body Lounge
- Real-life mermaid in the rooftop pool
- Barbara-Lee Edwards of Channel 8 as our guest MC
- Collarfree.com T-shirts for sale, with proceeds to benefit Keep-a-Breast
- Live entertainment
And Local Gurus will enjoy a private mixology course at J-six Restaurant which commences at 6:30 pm.
This is one of San Diego’s hottest spots and it’s a perfect place for Mojo’ers to network, mix and mingle with friends and neighbors. J-Bar is a little smaller than the W, so be sure to RSVP because space is limited!
RSVP NOW at: http://www.mojopages.com/events/mojopages-hearty-party-1
and get your Mojo on!
There’s no denying that the American financial market is in deep trouble…the economy is in crisis and now more than ever, every penny counts.
As many Americans struggle to make ends meet, we’re forced to get creative with how we stretch every dollar. To help you out, here are some easy everyday penny-pinching tricks to save more and waste less around the house:
1. Make more of your cup of joe - leave half your used coffee grounds in the filter and add half of the freshly ground coffee for a second pot.
2. More than mayo - add a few drops of vinegar when you reach the end of your jar of mayo, sprinkle in some herbs and shake well to make some salad dressing.
3. Extend battery life - try re-using dying batteries in low-energy appliances; just don’t mix old batteries with new ones.
And finally, we know that getting the most bang for your buck is more important than ever before, so the next time you need any business or service provider, be sure to check out MojoPages.com and see what you’ll be getting for the price.
We just had our first official MojoPages Community Launch Party, coordinated by LandMarK Events, and it was a HUGE success - with 500+ RSVPs the party was packed! And the newly renovated W Hotel was the perfect venue…right on the rooftop on the sand (super cool setup and vibe, slightly less cool for the ladies in stilettos - but hey, it’s a small price to pay for fashion)!
And of course, many, many thanks to all you Mojo’ers who came out to show your support for MojoPages and Keep-a-Breast!
Kicking things off in true rock star style, was our step and repeat (thank you Koerce Media)! And who can forget Ryan from Blue Star Body Lounge who was a huge hit with his relaxing professional massages…then there was the putt-putt golf experience provided by De La Cruz Golf Design and to top it off, an exciting Polynesian dance performance by Kaleo O’nalani with a special guest appearance by the Roxy Girls who stopped by before kicking off their National Surf Tour, transportation courtesy of SKYY Limousine.
Also, the hosted Tommy Bahama Rum bar was a tasty treat and those cocktails were delicious (and deadly by the end of the night). Combined with the pink Emergen-C CosMojos, whose proceeds benefited Keep-a-Breast (don’t you love a party with a cause?!), things got a little crazy by the end of the night! Here are some photos in case it’s all a little blurry…
