I put a deposit down on a car. The downpayment went from $1,000 when I put the deposit down all the way to $2,000! I let them know that wouldn't work so they reduced it to $1,500. I was unable to proceed with the transaction so I requested a refund of my deposit. I was met w/ an unfavorable / rude response claiming I cost them money because they turned down other offers on the car I had on hold. They also claimed my deposit was non-refundable and I was told that was the case when I paid them. That is UNTRUE! I was never told it was non-refundable and the receipt did NOT state the deposit is unrefundable. After 3-4 phone calls we were able to get them to agree to give the money back. Supposedly there is a check waiting for us tonight.
