I will always give someone a second chance. But when Z Med Spa called me to offer a complimentary massage because my experience was so bad, I refused to return. Yes, even for a free massage.

I usually go to Massage Envy in Glendale. But I was feeling lazy and Z Med is really close to home. So I shelled out $25 more dollars than usual for a massage.

The massage itself was eh. Not bad, just not good. However, I think the therapist used a full bottle of lotion. So I was really disgustingly slimy by the end. She gave me a wet, warm towel which I appreciated but would much rather have preferred not to require. I went straight home and showered and had to scrub to get the lotion off. Also, she didn't listen to my request for firmer pressure, which was a little frustrating. But this wasn't the part that really burned me.

Throughout the massage, there were people hollering in the hallway right outside the room. They were banging metal containers around, and at one point, someone even got into a little verbal scuffle. They also slammed doors. It was horrible. And then, to add insult to injury, someone actually came in the treatment room during the massage. ????? And then she closed the door and cackled to her noisy little friend that someone had been in there. It was the most unprofessional environment I've ever experienced. And for an $80 massage, I expect at the very least, a quiet environment.

They handled it appropriately by calling to offer a free redo, but with people who behave like that in a spa setting, I wanted no part of it.

Parking is on the street and often filled by yoga studio next door. There is a parking lot which is further and across a very busy main street. I should have listened to reveiws on tripadvisor.com before spending so much money at Z Med Spa-- the owner really is cold & rude. She has hung up on me mid-sentece twice now as I'm saying goodby & wishing her a good day. Most of their other staff is also very indifferent. They don't hold onto the good people (with a few exceptions) and have high turnover. The facilities are nice, but no extras like water while waiting. etc. Bottom line- servcice is rude, parking is hard and there are many more choices that are better. Anyway, I will look for other options.

I'm stingy with my 5 star ratings - this place deserves it. I called and wasn't sure what I needed for my skin. The receptionist took a long time with me on the phone recommending treatments. At my appointment, the setting was very relaxed and my facialist was great -she explained everything and even suggested I didn't get the pricier treatment I was looking into. I left with my face glowing. If you want to relax and get rid of blemishes quickly - go for the pumpkin peel!

The services are all reasonable and the staff was welcoming and efficient.

My wife and I treated ourselves to a romantic massage on Valentine's Day this year at Z Med Spa in Pasadena. I've been known to enjoy a spa treatment once in a while and I'm not afraid to admit it.
We had a very pleasant experience at Z Med Spa.
We were greeted with a beverage and asked to relax and fill out some basc forms. The massage room was decorated for us with rose petals, candles and scents to enhance our relaxation.
Massage therapists were extremely professional and experienced. I opted for the deep tissue and my wife for Swedish relaxation. It was fantastic.
Afterwards we weren't rushed but asked to relax further in some comfy chairs and offered a plate of chocolate covered strawberries. They also gave my wife a red rose for Valentine's Day.
Quiet, clean, relaxing and not expensive. We were prepared to pay what the web-site quoted, yet we were given a 20% discount that they advertised in their brochure - so a nice surprise.
