Both my children went to Woodcrest Preschool Sherman Oaks from the ages of 2 to 5 until they graduated to Kindergarten. I therefore became very aquainted with the friendly staff and administrator, Ms. Talamantes. Everyone was very helpful, knowledgeable and good at their job in making parents especially me feeling confident in leaving my kids in their hands. I was also very happy with their teaching practices and skills... Overall, I would definitely refer friends and family to the school.

Cannot recommend. My children were there for more than a year
Cannot recommend. My children were there for more than a year before I finally pulled them out. The first thing I noticed was the teacher turnover. As stated by other reviewers, the teachers clearly aren't happy and that's why so many leave. Second, my youngest child was neglected and I found my child with dirty diapers numerous times. I too recommend parents drop by the school to check on their kids frequently. I went to pick up my youngest child early one day, when I heard a teacher yelling at the children. When I opened the door I saw the teachers very stressed out. This classroom was so crowded, yet to my surprise my oldest child'™s classroom was almost empty. I asked the teacher what happened with the children, and she told me that the parents weren™t happy with the school and they took their children out. In fact, there's been a mass exodus in the past few weeks. Of course all these things happen because the awful and unprofessional Director. I have to laugh at the bogus comments posted here most likely by Woodcrest staff trying to stop the bleeding by attacking the parents sharing their personal experiences. But don't take my word for it, go there and talk to the teachers themselves, not the Director. Ask them how long they've been there and about their qualifications. How long have they been teaching? How many ECE units do they have? What about a Teacher's Certificate? If you want to pay a premium for mediocre teachers (the good one's don't stay long) and crowded classrooms then go for it. Otherwise, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Woodcrest has been an amazing experience for both my children
Woodcrest has been an amazing experience for both my children and my family. My wife and I love the hard work and dedication that clearly comes from the Director and her Staff. It's a shame to read reviews from parents who clearly have been asked to leave because perhaps their child was given notice to leave due to aggressive behavior or unrealistic parent expectations!! I highly reccomend you tour this amazing and accredited school! Woodcrest has a warm, inviting, organized, and clean environment! Great staff!

Woodcrest Sherman Oaks - The school is OK. The director is extremely unprofessional and rude. She treats parents and teachers like idiots and shows favoritism. The environment is extremely cold and you can clearly tell that the teachers are unhappy. I do not recommend this school - because of the director!

Not efficiently staffed for younger children‎
This school is not well staffed to take care of the youngest children (2-3 yrs). My son (then 2) was occasionally biting and instead of trying to help fix this problem they would phone me to pick him up and take him out of school! How does anyone keep a job this way!? The director suggested I pull him out of summer school and admitted this is only a phase that MANY children (even her own daughter) go through and w/ time he will stop. The very 1st day back in the fall I got a phone call to come pick him up and they essentially told me they couldn't have him there because of his biting issue! After spending $1700 for tuition and fee's (that I never got back) I was left w/ nowhere to place my son in pre-school. Who would have an opening on the 1st day back?!!! I was outraged and up set that a 2 yr old could simply be replaced because (as the director stated) 'They simply are not equipped w/ more staff to watch Logan closer to help stop his biting issue'. So, w/ other ...
