I am a small business owner and have a few locations throughout the city. Recently, I had a security situation that needed imediate attention. I had begrudgingly called the company I had used in the past. When they were not available, I had called a freind who recommended Windy City Lock & Key. They came out and actually suggested that I rekey my locks instead of replace them. The other company I used previously always replaced them. When they were finished with the work they wrote up the bill and I couldn't believe it. The cost was substantially less then the other company. In fact, I asked the guy if he had made a mistake, because the price was amazingly affordable in comparison. These guys are awesome. I will definately continue to use them and refer them to everyone I know.

I called Windy City due to the high reviews on this site. I arranged to have someone come out to look at my door to add an electric strike for the next weekend. Well, 10 minutes after the appointment should have taken place I get a call from Windy City saying they couldn't make it and had to reschedule. Ok, no big deal, they arranged to come out the next night (Sunday) and showed up on time. The guy seemed very knowledgeable and promised to email me my estimate in 3 days.

Well, I waited 10 days and received nothing so I called them up. The guy gave me every excuse in the book (He had someone quit, his fax was down, etc) and promised to email me the estimate the following day. 2 more days pass and still nothing so I called again. Once again, all apologies and excuses and a promise I would have a verbal estimate the next day. 2 more days pass and STILL NOTHING so I made my final call. I told them if they were too busy and didn't want my business I would call someone else. THE GUY ACTUALLY TOLD ME TO CALL SOMEONE ELSE!! I wouldn't tell anyone how to run his business but this guy obviously has no clue. I mean, at least quote me a ballpark figure and then tell me that, due to your workload you can't make it out for two weeks to make it at least seem like you're a professional! So now I've wasted two weeks waiting for these guys and their high rating and I guess it's on to #2. Thanks for nothing Windy City!
