The tour was great but, you NO longer can take pictures inside the house and the admission for the mansion tour went up to $28.00. We always like to take pictures inside to see if we could pick up any orbs or anything unusual. We took relatives last summer and had no problem. It must be a new policy. Well it sort of takes some of the fun out of it and maybe a bit of the mystery. The exterior and the gardens where nice. But overall we had a good time.

VERY INTERESTING HOUSE!! I don't really recommend paying the extra money for the "behind the scenes" tour (its only a few more rooms- but the ones outside) and most you can tour yourself without a guide.

The guide I had for the mansion was very monotone and you could really tell she had memorized a script. The house was VERY interesting though and they give you a lot of information.

I suggest eating prior to going to the estate as their food is rather expensive. Also, get there before 10:30am, otherwise, the lines for the tours are long.

I went to the Winchester Myster Mansion last September and it was a lot of fun!
I've seen it on tv shows for so long and was not disapointed with my tour at all! The weather was warm but breezy.
We also went on the "Behind the Scenes Tour" which was cool you get to see the basement and shed in the gardens. There wa even a tree with real fruit growing on it still!

The cafeteria was really good too the pretzel was delicious and the coke I got in a souveinir cup was really good too.

Great place to Visit on San Jose!

its a fun jaunt into a comercialized exploration of a part of this area's history.Get to the top floor and its not bad. As well around to the barn. To its auto tour. I say not bad, out of the fact that urban sprawl ( like kudzu) is run amok! When taking in what the are had former been, for its residence. No evidence of a pride in the area at all
