Just Discovered the Catering Dept - In Love :)
I haven't had time to cook plus my house is under construction, therefore, I've been relying on the Whole Foods catering department to bring stuff to parties and get togethers. I feel like the store gets a bad rap for price. I would have to disagree. Don't buy the $15 cheese, there are so many other options.

For instance, I ordered the small Bruschetta platter online. No hassles, no upfront payment, no fuss. I was in and out of the store within 5 minutes. The platter was enormous and a mere $14.99. Several people remarked they thought it should have been triple the cost. I've also relied on their lunch boxes for kid outings. The finger sandwich platter is nothing spectacular (far better than others I've had) but I would opt for the signature sandwiches instead (like the roast beef/arugula - yum).

Do also pay attention to the handwritten notes from the wine buyer. In my experience, those are guaranteed winners. Especially the Petit Syrah in the photo I've attached.

I also just bought my first clothing item here. A soy shirt. Who would have thought? I could go on and on about how much I love this store.

wow this place isnt cheap.
While this is a standard market, it also serves the needs of the lactose-intolerant/gluten-free/allergic to everything types... I am lactose-intolerant so it is nice to see the variety that I could have. But why must I have to pay a premium for it? I mean, they charge a grip there!

And what the heck... 8 bucks for a freakin lb of food?!? WOW. all the food looks so damn heavy and loaded up with who knows what, it would be easy to get it to 8 bucks. I'm sorry but thats so expensive. I don't get how people would be willing to pay for that. I mean isn't the economy barely recovering from the recession??? Y'all are nutty. But then again, its housed in la jolla. hmm...

While Whole Foods is one of the more expensive markets out there, it's totally worth it. Not only do you know your food is going to be fresh and healthier for you, but there are so many different options! Whole Foods is the place to go if you are sporting a vegan or vegetarian diet.

It's also the place to shop if you're onthe green bandwagon, as the stock a slew of environmentally friendly products. Not only that, but their flower-shop is not like any grocery store flower shop, these flowers look like they were bought straight from the florist.

My favorite aspect is the slew of fresh food being prepared there everyday. It's a great place to pick up lunch or dinner if you don't have the time to cook. And, you can have samples, like Costco :)

Also, service is superior. All employees are great and genuinely seem like they like working there!
Pros: everything!
Cons: nothing!
