Great market, wonderful place to shop by Anne R. at InsiderPages
I'm a big Whole Foods fan. The San Mateo store is big, has a great selection, and I've found the service to be friendly and fast. There are a ton of lunch options -- salad bar, sushi, daily warm dishes and more. Their bakery is also terrific and I've found their bakery staff to be extremely helpful for party planning and other questions/needs.

I Love It by Angelina M. at InsiderPages
This is my favorite store. They have a great varitey of organic foods and natural products. They also offer cooking classes and other workshops. I wish there was a store closer to my home.

PROS: Organic and natural products
CONS: I want a store closer to my home

Whole Foods is Wholesome by N R. at InsiderPages
I really like this place because they don't sell anything with preservatives, partially hydrogenated oils, or other bad quality ingredients. So you know you're getting wholesome healthy food. Because of this, you do pay a premium but I think it's worthwhile. They have a good seafood deli, and I've purchased fish (cod, halibut, snapper, tuna, salmon, catfish)from them on several occasions with great results. They always have suggestions on how to prepare and serve. As a hint, some of the boxed items are cheaper if you get them in the bulk foods aisle.I have noticed that they do mischarge me for at least one produce item which I find annoying because their produce can be expensive. And my other pet peeve is that for a store that promotes sustainability, etc. I often see them carrying produce that isn't in season.

Great Store, Bad Parking by H R. at InsiderPages
Our family loves this store. The selection of organics is great and the staff is helpful. We also enjoy the variety of healthy take-out alternatives. Our one complaint is with the parking lot. It's not designed very well, and it takes a while to get in and out.

Food to Go by Saloua A. at InsiderPages
The main reason I shop at Whole Foods is for the ready made food. I LOVE their soups. My favorites are the tomato, potatoe + leek, and all the salmon stews. They also have great pizza (with unbelievable crust), and sandwiches. I love their tuna sandwiches the best. As for grocery type foods, I don't usually come here to do that sort of shopping. If you're on your lunch break, and you work near Whole Foods, I recommend coming here and grabbing a quick (but fulfilling) bite to eat. I promise you, if you take my word for it, you won't regret it!
