I don't know what it is about this place, perhaps it's because it always tends to be the last stop of the night, but I really dig it. $10 at the door, which isn't as bad as many downtown establishments, but there's rarely a line. The drinks are what you would expect from a mid-priced place downtown. The music they place is good enough to dance to, and fairly eclectic considering the scene.

I think what I like most about it is that the aura isn't the stuffy downtown vibe you get at a lot of places. Despite the prices, it's sorta like a PB bar/club they stuck a few numbers lower on the zip code range. People always tend to be having a good time, and you generally find groups who are looking for a more casual evening out.

My god, I hate this place. Being female makes it even worse, but I know guys who think the same as me. It's a loud, busy bar which overcharges for boring drinks and plays the sort of music you'd rather hear through several layers of soundproofing. The people who hang out in there are generally horny young idiots who love nothing more than to heckle others, and pinch anyone's ass that happens to be within arms reach. Any direction you look, you should be able to see a fight happening or starting, and by the time you leave your shoes will be thick with grime and trash. Gross.

Whisky Girl is another fun place downtown, although I usually skip it on the weekends because it’s too busy, too expensive, and the line is too long (and I avoid paying cover). But they do offer some great deals during the week, especially during Padres home games. And the drinks are usually strong enough.
The reason I really love this place is for the video screens—the DJs are usually awesome and play a wide range of music, always showing the music video on multiple screens (I have now seen some great videos, such as D*ck in a Box and Baby Got Back).
This place also has prime outdoor seating, right in the heart of Gaslamp. But most of the time I am entranced by the music videos constantly on their big and numerous screens.

Seriously. If you want a wild night, go here. Not only are you in the middle of the Gaslamp already, you may walk in and have your friends carry you out.

They have a long bar and food served late night status at the tables on the floor. They clear out a large section of the floor for dancing after ten or so. The DJs and music are pretty good normally, and the lighting and massive screens that you can watch from even the street keep up the party atmosphere.

Note however that there is a dress code after ten pm. It's pretty basic though, and as far as I know, it's just that you can't wear hats or bandanas in the evening.

Drinks are normally priced, but strong enough, and there is a good selection on tap, even for people who care about good beer. There is a photo booth in the back on the way to the restroom area which is perfect for catching your best drunk moments with friends. I know I have made some lasting impressions of ridiculousness via that booth.

This place was amazing even when there is nothing else going on downtown they still are rocking!
