Skilled, good to some, but not all
Dr. Wheeler came highly recommended. At first, he was incredible. Handled all my pregnancy complications well, seemed friendly, smiled and seemed very knowledgable. Had intelligent answers to questions. But I have to disagree on the bedside manner. When I showed up without my husband to one of my appointments, he reacted in a distant and somewhat cold manner (like he was uncomfortable with me being there). This made me terribly apprehensive. I was sad, as I liked him and wanted to have a good, professional doctor-patient relationship. Then during my delivery, he was crabby as ever and not very nice. He made me cry the morning after. He didn't see me at my 6 week check up, just the Nurse Practitioner (one of two incredibly wonderful ones...those ladies are perfect). His staff is great, just not always Dr. Wheeler himself. If he reads this, I hope he realizes he has the potential to be perfect, but he just doesn't carry it out consistently across the board. I hopet his could be useful constructive criticism. Unfortunately, I noticed his manner was nicer with attractive couples or girls. Not unprofessional, but nicer. I am just your average mom (mom to be at the time). Good luck all.
