Wheel works is a total ripoff. by Wheel W. at InsiderPages
To fix a tire with a small nail in it: Took about 2 hours (with appointment). Did not want to fix it, even though the tire was under warranty, because, they said, the tire was marginal in tread depth. Then, they put it on the rim backwards, so the car was veering to the left, because of uneven wear on the tire.
Then they inflated it with the wrong tire pressure, twice. They spend more time under the hood without my consent or approval, than working on the tire. In the end they suggested that I was not to be believed when I said that the car was not veering when I brought it in.

Body Damage
My car was body damaged in this Wheelworks shop to the tune of $792.74. They did not take responsibility for it. The area manager was to call me , but he never did. STAY AWAY!

Pricey but good service.
I've used "Wheel Works" on Duane Ave. in Santa Clara twice.

My first experience was a 90K service on a Ford Expedition. My impression of the shop was that they were knowledgeable and friendly. I felt that the service went well though the price of the service was nothing special. For some reason looking on Edmunds, it said my 90K service would cost ~$300 but the cost to me at Wheel Works was ~$500 (about the same price as a dealership). That said, they seemed to do an honest job, and I'd rather pay a fair price for good service than pay less but feel like the shop was dishonest and ripped me off.

My second service was a simple oil change. I used a $20 coupon which made the price more reasonable (~$21) compared to the usual ~$40 (as claimed by the coupon itself). Service took about an hour and a half, a little long but I can understand as there were a number of customers ahead of me. I checked the engine afterwards and with my unskilled eyes everything seemed ok.

Overall my experiences have been good. Again, the prices are not excellent. But, I felt the guys at Wheel Works were:

1) Honest - I asked specifically about my brakes for the Ford because they were feeling a little sluggish but they told me the brakes were fine.

2) Knowledgeable - When I called in about the service, the gentleman on the phone immediately warned me that changing the Expedition's spark plugs would be a hassle.

3) Friendly - When I dropped off the Expedition, I forgot to give them my gas key so they couldn't put in a gas additive in my car. When I picked the car up, one of the technicians came out and told me he would do it for me on the spot. I definitely appreciated the friendly and honest gesture.

4) Clean - ... well sort of. The waiting area, the garage, and the back parking lot were all a little dirty but definitely better than many of the shops I've been to before. At least there were no junked cars or garbage in the vicinity.

Great! by Mack R. at InsiderPages
I always get my tires here. They have nice woprkers and are cheap, compared to other shops. The downside is you have to wait a very long time for them to get your car fixed. Otherwise, they are great!
