The best‎
Known the owners my whole life.. or I guess I should say they've known me! Joe is just monotone, get used to it. He's not being rude. Just because someone is not the bubbliest person around doesn't mean they are rude. You are going there for fish advice and help, not to watch a cheerleader. You want perky go to a football game. Anyway, the fish are amazing quality, the pricing is great and if you are a hobbyist the fish card can pay for itself in one visit. You can even request a species if you want something specific. I've been to every petstore in the five cities and Wet Pets is the best.‎

Great store. Great employees. Owner?......‎
I have been going to WetPets for 10 years now. Wonderful selection and the "Fish Card" is a great money saver, for sure. I feel as if every employee there really cares about me and the health of my fish. They have been so helpful with problems I have had in the past and with the setting up of my all new tanks. Any questions I have are always truthfully answered and are truly appreciated. The owner, on the other hand....well I just steer clear of him. I ALWAYS head for another employee. I think he's just socially inept. I mean, BAD. Sure he cares about fish, it's his passion and hobby. But he sucks at dealing with people. His wife and employees are great (even their Golden Retriever is always happy to see me) so I don't let his personality keep me from going there. I'll give him my money because he has a great selection of fish and his staff is wonderful and VERY knowledgeable. But sometimes I just want to wring his neck because he's such a pretentious jerk ...

I used to work for them when they first...‎
He did seem kind of cruel and short, but in time I realized that is just his personality..He and his wife are very nice people, Just not the most social of butterflies...He knows his fish though,Except I would try to help and nurse the sick ones, and he would just flush them....‎

review for wet pets‎
If the owner is the middle aged white guy, about 6 foot, he is very arrogant. My girl and I went there every weekend for the 3 yrs we lived down there, maybe five times was he pleasant. I think he is arrogant and not socially capable so it's a bad combo when you need help. I know quite a bit about Cichlids and he still acted like I was wasting his time. Unfortunately in a small town, not many options like up here in the Bay Area. My wife now, girlfriend back then referred to him as the angry cop! He is a prototype for a Sheriff or CHP officer! Do have a good selection though, i will give them that.‎

owner is rude‎
I read these reviews and decided i had to find out for myself. wet pets is definitely the best fish supply store in SLO county but the owner is one of the most condescending fish guys in slo as well. the asian kid that works there is super nice but the owner was very short with me and made me feel like an idiot for asking him questions and being curious about the fish. It seems like if you aren't a fish expert you will never have his respect, and he will talk down to you. this has happened on numerous occasions, so if you have any questions ask the asian kid he is really nice and genuinely interested in the hobby. Definitely the best fish store in the county but avoid the middle aged white guy with the mustache. and BTW about every fish store ive come across does free water testing so its not like they do it out of the kindness of their hearts. this is a businessman.‎
