This shop is the best in the area for running and triathlon. The sales staff is great. Knowledgeable and courteous. The owner has been snotty on more than one occaasion though. I'll shop here in a bind, but won't consider myself a loyal customer because of that.

I had to get running shoes for my 16 year old and I know nothing about running. The Westchester Road Runner was highly recommended by runners that I knew, so we made the trip from Dutchess County. Wow. The sales woman was fantastic and very patient. My son tried on several styles, she watched his stride with each one and answered all of our questions. He has been thrilled with the shoes and they have helped his running considerably. We will definitely make the 2 hour round trip again for running shoes!

I walked in off the street, needing some running shoes. I walked up to the shoe display, and started looking, but the salesmen told me to take a seat and take my shoes off. I was confused because I didn't even have a pair picked out yet. Then a salesman comes over and asks me to walk around the store so he can evaluate my stride. He crawled down to have his eyes at ground level and size me up. Then went back and grabbed shoes he thought would work well. I tried on a few pair, and ultimately came up with a brand and design I never would have tried on, but they were light, supportive, comfortable and under $100. The sales guy was knowledgeable listened to my needs and responded to them.
It's so shocking when a sales person is willing to get down on the ground when the job calls for it. I was delighted by the attention to detail! All of the sales people were obviously serious runners, not just little Al Bundies.
If you just want to go shopping for fashion, this may not be the store. If you want help with a good running shoe, I highly recommend the Westchester Road Runner.
