Went there and asked if they had 3 Floyds Gumball Head, the clerk told me it was out of season (which I found odd given that I had bought a six pack about a week ago). I brought up two six packs, one Half Acre and one Raspberry Wheat. After waiting in line, the clerk says "Oh sorry, I cant sell you that Half Acre. Its not in the system." So, they stocked the cooler with beer that had a price tag, but couldnt sell it to me. What a joke. Needless to say I walked out and wont be back (and btw went two blocks down the street to Armenetti liquors, who had Gumball head)

By far, the most relatable store I've been to in Chicago. Afler living here for several years, this is a PRIZE in the neighborhood. The absolute BEST wine and beer selection I've seen in a long time. Staff is very in tune with "todays" knowledge of selection from the most widely consumed to the most extravagent tastes. Most impressive is the fact that the store caters to the everyday consumer. Not trying to overwhelm the customer with information to try and "make the sale", but, offering a great selection at a resonable price. You'll find the atmosphere very welcoming and an easy store to shop.

We tried to hate this place - mostly because we knew behind the scenes sh*t...but really, it rocks. We've not once, not never had a bad wine recommendation - they have a great selection and can customize to suit any mood (think that really great movie rental place when the guy ate, slept, and breathed movie and could tell you any movie for any mood - if you ever got that lucky in life - then make it the same for wine/beer). The beer is ever changing and ever awesome. They have some fabulous bargin bottles (wine) and even better splurges. Tried going to Lush and was impressed that they kept track of what you've bought - too abd everything they recommended was awful and we wanted them all put on the "don't buy" list. Lakeview is unassuming, friendly, and convenient.

Went in here to scope the beer selection, and ended up spending 50 bucks! Excellent selection of obscure beers from all over the world. Asked the guy for help with a particular brewery, and he was pleasant and helpful, and possessed excellent taste. The prices are right, too; the beer is priced far below what you would pay at the nearby Lush on Roscoe Street.
