On time office... appointment always as scheduled. Caring psychotherapist and excellent knowledge of medication. Up front, no time wasted in getting to the issues. Nice guy., very professional and a big help to me at a time that I needed it. Will always be grateful for Dr Weingold's help.

I called to make an appointment with Dr. Weingold as a new patient. The earliest appointment was over 2 weeks away. I was hoping for a sooner appointment, but I agreed. A few days prior to my appointment, I called to see if they’ve had any cancellations so I could see the doctor sooner. The receptionist said no, so I agreed to keep my appointment as is, but asked if someone from the office could give me a call should a sooner appointment become available.
The next day, I received a call back from the office telling me they have cancelled my appointment since “I couldn’t make it”. I called them right back to say that I was just hoping to see the doctor sooner, but was clear that I’ve been waiting over 2 weeks for this appointment and wanted to keep it. The receptionist said that it was too late, because they have given my timeslot to someone else and all she could offer was an appointment 3 weeks away. She was impolite and unprofessional. Caution if you are considering this doctor.

I went to Dr. Weingold because he was the director of the psych dept at Cedars Sinai and thought he would be a top practitioner. He takes a quick intake and then makes his recommendations. The follow ups take 3-4 mins. If you want to be in and out quickly, he's the MD for you.

This "psychiatrist" who saw me on a regular basis approximately 3 years ago lost my records. Apparently, on top of providing me with prescription medication that did not work (which explained why I never came back after giving him a chance for a year) , his records keeping is poor. Yet what made my experience worse is his secretary/ receptionist, Frances, who not only proved to be incompetent, but was also extremely rude on the phone. In fact, in one particular conversation, she alluded to my insanity as perhaps part of the reason why they could not find my information. According to her, Dr. Weingold's record keeping is flawless and in situations akin to this, it is typically the patient's own fault and hung up on me abruptly. They eventually found my record and Frances, the receptionist, called back without any apologetic remorse. It was a very demeaning process- something I will never forget and warranted my bringing it to the medical review board for further scrutiny. Patients (who are already vulnerable enough to begin with that needs a good therapist)- BEWARE OF THIS ONE.
