I shop here when in the village
Otherwise, I head to Trader Joe's, Henry's or Whole Foods. This VONS happens to be conveniently located since I spend a lot of time in downtown La Jolla. It big and has pretty much everything.
I like that they have way more organic and locally grown food than they used to. It's well labeled except the organic vegetables are off to the side so you might miss them.
The florist is actually pretty reasonably priced and has a lot of nice stuff. There are premade arrangements and orchids if you just need to grab something and go. I also buy their fresh bread and slices of cake some times. I know a lot of people that get custom birthday cakes and cupcake cakes from the bakery here. There's a Starbucks, Jamba Juice, dry cleaner and Wells Fargo inside.
i guess I don't love it because I feel my other choices are better value overall.

WE used to love shopping here.....ever since the so called "upgrade" a few months back....everything seems to have gone downhill. Shelves not stocked....running out of key items like butter and eggs...and some types of milk. One night my husband waited half an hour to buy some fried chicken, because he was told the staff that manned the "deli" were "at lunch"...half an hour later , he was then told that they had actually gone home. Leaving the hot chicken and wegies still displayed and all the cold salads too?.....I feel sorry for anyone who went in to buy any of those items the next day. Another time I went to buy firewood ...
