Positioned on the northern end of S. Cedros Avenue is Vision of Gold Unique Fine Jewelry. Initially, I was drawn inside because of the name "Visions of Gold," unlike so many other boring jewelry store names, I thought this one was truly unique. After walking inside and meeting owner, designer, and jewelry of over 23 years, Scott Rath, I realized this shop was truly special.

Scott greeted me with a warm smile and "How are you today?" Because of my young age, I rarely garner this warm of a greeting at some of the 'nicer' stores.) His range of jewelry did not fail to impress. He had objects I had never heard of before, much less seen! Bracelets, earrings, and necklaces made from 2000+ year old Roman glass shone like gold-flecked abalone shells, sitting in hand crafted silver settings from Israel.

As I continued my peering journey through the glass displays, I was amazed by the sheer variety in design. From classical diamond engagement and wedding rings, to gold ocean waves and palm tree necklaces. There was truly something for all ages and taste.

My awe was further extended as he told me that he personally designed and sometimes fabricated each individual piece. Being familiar with the processes of lost wax and metal casting, I was truly inspired by the levels of detail and precise perfection evident in each of his beautiful objects.
