Our experience was not pleasant by A. M. at InsiderPages
We adopted a kitten from a shelter that works closely with Highland Heights Animal Hospital. He had to be neutered before they would let us take him home, so the shelter sent him off to HHAH to be neutered. When we picked him up, I immediately noticed something was wrong and took him to our vet. Our vet explained that what had happened was an uncommon side effect to neutering, but did not reflect poorly on the surgeon, it was just a problem with the healing process. However, it was a problem that needed fixing. The shelter offered to cover the fee related to the surgical correction, however, we had to take him back to HHAH. Since our vet assured us it wasn't a problem with the surgeon, we agreed to go there. First off, it took about 45 minutes for us to get into the exam room. The vet tech. obviously didn't know what she was doing, and we literally were about to lieave when the vet came in. He was very nice and basically re-emphasized what our vet said so we agreed to let them do the correction. They took our kitten into the back room and we went to the front desk. Literally a minute later we heard this horrendous screaming coming from the back. My husband and I lookd at each other and laughed that, someone was not happy. The screaming continued for another 30 seconds and I got a sick feeling in my stomach. My husband had the same feeling and rushed into the back. Sure enough, they had begun the procedure without allowing the anesthetic to kick in! They were cutting into my kitten without any anesthetic or pain killers. We instructed them to give him a pain killer shot and finish up. We were absolutely livid, and I even got in touch with the shelter we got him from and informed them. I know not everyone's experiences are the same, but ours was not pleasant and I will NEVER go back or receommend them to anyone!
