Still Great Animal Care!! by Jack S. at InsiderPages
I still frequent Stanford Pet Clinic even though the days of Dr. Mell are over. I've noticed that since Dr. Mell has retired there have been some changes at Stanford Pet Clinic. They've merged with another pet hospital and there are some new faces but I've also noticed that some of the old staff and doctors are still there. That's good to see and they still give very good quality care care to my pets. I know the prices have changed a bit also but are still very competitive and I will still keep bringing my pets there because they care about my animals (my doggie loves to board there!)

Can you spell price gouging
For decades Dr Mell provided a good service at reasonable prices. Now a corporation has taken over and prices have increased 200 to 400%. When you question the management you are told if you don't like it go away. Well the corporation is a public company and may be their stockholders need to take a hard look at how the business is being run, their stock has already lost 60% of its value and customers are finding other vets!

terrible service
after visiting them for 2 years, I decide to stop visiting them anymore. Because when I called them and would like to get a quote for a small procedure, they overcharged me a lot. A lot! I ended with calling different pet clinics around this area and found much more reasonable quotes.

If you care about your pets, and do not want to be robbed, stay away from Stanford Pet clinic.

The Best Vet EVER by Sharon B. at InsiderPages
Dr. Mell was my Vet from the early 70's thru '85 and then I moved to Georgia with my 4 dogs and 2 cats. He pawned many pets off on me during that time! I loved him as a person, a friend, and a Vet.
I was thinking of him today and came to find an e-mail address to send him a note when I found that he had retired.
I know that he and Renee will love their retirement but the Bay Area will truly miss him for the care of their animals. He was truly one of a kind and a true human being.
I love you Dr. Mell!!

Dr. Mel's staff are unorganized and occasionally rude. My cats, which I adopted from Dr. Mel, were misdiagnosed with URI two times. The third time I took them in, I insisted for a thorough exam. URI is common among kittens. I was also charged for a test that I did not require or request. More professional clinics notify the client before charging (i.e. Adope Animal Hospital). I am upset about my negative experience at the Stanford Pet Clinic.
