After getting absurdly high quotes from arrogant St Helena and Up-Valley landscapers, and having one of Napa's largest landscape design companies quote me - give me a start date - and then never show up - my wife and I were just about to give up on the process of landscaping our Napa property.
Jim Van Winden was referred to me by a mutual friend of Jim's, and when he came over to talk to my wife and I, and heard our horror stories about our experiences with other landscape firms, he laughed and said it would never happen on his watch. He then gave me a huge list of satisfied customers, and every one of them raved about his work ethic and his eye for both creative and practical landscape design.
He designed a stone wall for the front of our house, and since then has landscaped every inch our our property. He always came in at or under budget, and he always completed his projects on time. He built out a custom deck for our side yard for half the cost others had quoted me, and installed a beautiful water feature that everyone compliments us on. Our landscaping is without any question one of the most beautiful in our neighborhood.
To add additional benefits to a list so long it would bore you, Jim has referred me to the best electrical contractor I've ever worked with - Myles Davis Electric - and I have had the same experience with Myles and his people.
