NEVER DO BUSINESS THERE!!!!!!‎

I was looking to buy an older boat that the motor was questionable on. I called to get a price on a new motor I was told 5000 to 7000. So I asked which is it 5000 or 7000. He told me that "he would never buy that boat. You can talk yourself in to anything. Good luck" and he hung up!?!?!?! I don't know about you but if someone was calling me to spend 5000 to 7000 with me I wouldn't hang up on them!!! In today's economic environment one would think that a business revolving around wants and not needs would have a higher level of service? They might want to change the way they treat people or they will find themselves closing for good. What a joke!!! I will never do business with them!!!‎

My experience I am sure is the same as many other people. I called Valley Marine and asked what they would charge to look at a 7.5 HP Mercury outboard motor. The motor was running fine, it had only stalled a couple of times. I had also noticed that water was merely trickling from the out port instead of running fast like usual. So, I needed it checked out to see if the water pump was clogged or failing. I was told that their normal billing rate was $60 an hour. So, I took my motor down figuring it would take maybe a half hour to look at, an hour tops. Gene calls me three day later and says it will cost $900 to repair the motor because the fuel pump and the water pump where both dead and all of the lines inside needed replaced. So he offered the option where I can just give him the motor in lieu of the diagnostic charge of $186.00. Or, pay him the $900 and pick up a "repaired" motor. Or, I could give it to him in lieu of the diagnostic charge and he will repair it and sell it ...
