EXCELLENT CUSTOMER REPAIR SERVICE LIKE I'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE
My white Apple Macbook that I bought almost 2 years
ago now started to turn black around the palm rest
area and there were reports on the internet that the
hard-drive in it was known to fail. I called Apple on
the phone and explained to the guy of these issues,
but was basically told nothing that could be done
(without me paying out of pocket) since it was long
out of warranty. However, he said that probably my
best bet would be to go to the nearest Apple store.
About a month or so later... I had to make a trip to
San Jose for a doctors appointment and decided to go
to the Apple store with my Macbook since its right
near by. I went-up to the genius and we started
talking. Well, as he started to check out my laptop I was explaining to him
the problems I told the Apple Care guy on the phone.
As we're doing this he tells me to hold on one second
and goes to the back. Soon enough, he comes back out
and tells me that I must have caught the boss in a
good mood or something because it's all going to be
covered on the house regardless of the age of the
computer and having no warranty.
The computer was repaired LESS THAN 24 hours later
just as described with the whole top of the laptop
(inc. keyboard, trackpad, and palmrest area) being
replaced and looking brand new. The harddrive was
replaced with a brand-new one (infact they upgraded my
harddrive to a larger one), and just as a perk they
even threw in a brand new battery. I picked up the
computer and walked out without paying a dime and
there's even a 90-day warranty on everything they did
on a job that shouldn't have been covered in the first
place. This is a job that probably would have cost a
bunch of $$ if not paid for by Apple. All I got to say is the
Apple store Valley Fair in Santa Clara knows how to do
business!
