Stay Away! by Jonathan B. at InsiderPages
In the latter part of 2008 I took my Accord in for service at Val Strough Honda in Seaside. Apparently an axle boot tore and was leaking oil. They replaced the boot and all was okay, however I noticed my headlight switch was now broken. I took the car back and told them the switch was fine before the axle boot repair. They said they'd check it out, but stated that they did not mess with anything but the axle boot. A few hours later, I get a phone call that the headlight switch needed replacing, estimate $200. Being new in this area, I had them replace the switch that was originally perfect. A week later, my engine malfunction light illuminated! These new and consistent problems appeared awfully suspicious, especially with a bad economy and businesses suffering. I took my car to the Sam Linder Honda dealership in Salinas and they not only addressed my engine malfunction light problem, they didn't charge a penny since it was covered under an extended warranty. They also presented me with a to do list and repair estimate sheet. Comparing both dealerships (Val Strough and Sam Linder), Sam Linder Honda wins and will be getting my repeat business, even if it's a few miles further away from my home. Honesty, friendliness and professionalism is what I received from Sam Linder Honda in Salinas. It's been over a month and still no new problems have arisen since Sam Linder Honda repaired my vehicle ;-). If anybody else experienced a similar problem with Val Strough Honda in Seaside, please submit an honest review here for ALL to see.
