After living in New York for the past 7 years, I'd had enough. Got a new job and moved to Oakland. Took me a few months before I caught my first show at the Uptown. ExtraActionMarchingBand! Out of control! What a great time! Ever since then, I've been back several times and always have a great time. Goth nights are cool cuz everyone dresses up. What else, great sound. This space is classy and the clientele is questionable. I love that!

I've been waiting a long time for a solid venue in Oakland finally it's here. This place is fancy and very comfortable. I go to the Uptown about 2-3 times a month and it's always hopping. The Shadow Society Goth nights on 4th thursdays are spooky-cool!. The clientele is dressed to the 9'zzzzz and the booze is flowin'‎

I went to Uptown for the first time last night and had an excellent time. The music was Om Record Lable Artists, which really hit the bar's vibe home. The bar is gorgeous, and the wood dance floor is sure to be a draw for me and my friends. The staff and owner were very nice, and their service fantastic. The other patrons were friendly, and as happy to be there as we were. This is a great place to go to have a real night out in Oakland.
