As long as you are aware that this place is busy, and are willing to not wait until the very last moment to get an appointment at the exact time you want, there's no better facility in the area. Everything is clean, the staff is polite, and the care is comprehensive. Don't expect to be able to call Thursday and get a Saturday appointment to accommodate your hair appointment, though. It's very easy to get a slot within a day or two as long as you are willing to go on a weekday afternoon.‎

We loved doing business with UAH, but given the recent trend we'll be going elsewhere. Uptown Animal Hospital seems to have fallen behind when it comes to being able to run an effective operation that is keeping pace with the growth in the Andersonville/Edgewater community. Over the past several years, each occasion we've had to visit the location, it was absolutely crazy. Far too many people packed in the waiting area with their pets, and 4-5 employees tending behind the counter to what seemed to be a constant frenzy. In addition to having to wait 2-4 weeks for an appointment, one begins to wonder how the place is able to provide quality pet care when it is clearly overwhelmed with business. It would do well for Uptown Animal Hospital to reconsider the number of vets on staff and the limited hours of operation that are currently in place.‎

My family and I have moved around a lot and were so pleased when someone recommended Uptown to us. My cat typically visits the vet once a year for her annual vaccinations; however, my dog, Alye, is a different story. If you can get it, she's had it! We call her the sweetest, "lemon of a dog" you could know! Upon getting heart worm (with taking the preventative meds....don't buy online!!!), Dr. Whisler, in particular, was so thorough in explaining her treatments and following up with us to make sure we were all ok! We were also taking very good care of when we realized she had hip dysplasia in both hips and referred to a wonderful specialist. I also appreciate the thought process these doctors use in treating my animals. They don't jump to conclusions and try to treat your animals with unnecessary treatments. I have been taking my animals to Uptown Animal for over 15 years and have NEVER had a problem with scheduling an appointment. I usually have been able to get an appointment within 1 to 3 days of my call. The owner of Uptown Animal Hospital is Dr. John Mclellan, and he is a fantastic veteranarian. Anyone who has had a problem of any kind with the other Doctors at the hospital, should talk to Dr. Mclellan. I recommend all my friends with dogs and cats to Dr. Mclellan. Every one has been satisfied with his care of their animals.
