PET OWNERS BEWARE!!!!!!
It’s obvious they were worried about me writing a review (see deluge of ‘lovely’ reviews since my incident with UAH happened in ’08) and believe me I tried not to, but all other pet owners in my building urged me in order to aid others.
Let me start by saying, I don’t usually write reviews. I believe no business is entirely perfect, but in the event that you make that dreaded monumental mistake of walking into this overpriced, pseudo-compassionate-to-animals place, be prepared to be cornered like a raccoon. I brought my 12-week old, seven-pound puppy here for initial tests, etc. Though I felt my puppy was too young and small for professional grooming, I was swiftly persuaded by the slick Dr. Zola to bring him in again (ka-ching!) for that. On that ill-fated day, his groomer nearly ended our puppy's life and UAH quickly washed its hands off the situation and passed on the responsibility to AMC, who then told us our puppy may be euthanized. Drop your puppy off for grooming, pick him up 3 days later from another hospital fighting for his life. In the meantime, this dollar-mongering business sent us no letter of apology whatsoever. Instead, I got a bill in the mail for $290 for the grooming “treatment” and assorted add-ons I was never previously informed of. And when I strenuously disputed the bill, they took it to collection, thus, tainting my credit which left me no choice but to pay it (psychopaths, anyone?). $2,500 later, our pet insurance refused to reimburse us since basically, as relayed to us by numerous doctors from AMC, there are very few ways such alleged medical conditions can occur: either by strangulation or electric shock. And neither my dear readers, are very good visions for your beloved pet, are they? So, the moral is: if you love your dog, RUN, don’t walk away from this place. However, at the end of the day, it's a free country and people can do as they please, just remember you'll be going at your pet's and own risk.
