Large assortment of innovative sushi
I'm always looking for a Japanese restaurant with something new. Tired of the ones with the typical salmon rolls, california rolls, dragon rolls, etc. Even tired of Yama despite how good that was the menu's boring. Umi Sushi surely fits my bill. From the outside it looked more like a take-out restaurant with just a few tables. We were actually going to leave since there was only 1 table left and it's right by the entrance. Since it was a rainy Friday, we decided to go in and was surprised to see there were 2 more rooms inside. I'm very happy we did stay because the sushi are that good. Quality is fresh. The prices are reasonable even more so considering each sushi roll have 8 slices. My wife loved the Mongolian Roll and I really liked the Spider Web roll which came with its own sauce. The Titanic Roll looks the same as a Rainbow roll, but still it was good. Didn't care much for the Vitamin C roll. The Sukiyaki - Babemono was pretty tasty also. The Green Tea ice cream was kinda unusual, it seems when you dig a spoon into it, it breaks into smaller pieces. Umi Sushi is quickly becoming our favorite, but we still have other restaurants to check out first.
cons: the appetizer menu is pretty much the same as the others. The restaurant is narrow only good for 2 or 4 per table. Haven't seen what the backroom looks like if it could accomodate for groups.
