Although the food was good, the service here is HORRIBLE. About 5 minutes after we sat down, the "waitress" walked over with a sour expression and literally threw our place setting at us. I had a small cup of water to drink, and since I didn't order a bottle and the "waitress" never came back, I was left with 8 oz. to drink with my entire meal. If you are thinking of eating Totonnos, go with takeout.

This is absolutely the best pizza on earth. They've made it the same way for generations. It brings back such memories of my childhood when they used to wrap the pizza in brown paper. Every other pizza just pales by comparison.

Thin, crispy pizza served with fresh mozzarella and the sauce is beautiful. Right amount of spices and seasonings. the ambience is ok. cause it is an old pizzeria. the wallas were full of pictures, awards, reviews. all sorts of stuff.

Being a native new yorker, you are critical of pizza. I went here because it was always top rated. I was extremely disappointed. The pizza is highly overrated. Floppy, the sauce had no taste. And the one's making the pizza, that's another story. Anyone with a brick oven can make this pizza. It was pretty much dough, canned sauce, and a few chunks of polly'o cheese. Go to DiFara's instead.

I have to agree with Frank M. Maybe back in the day this place was good. Today... not so impressive!!! Shame really. I heard of the joint (I call it a joint 'cause it looks like a scene from a 1920 mob movie) on one of the "Food Channel" kind of shows and drove about 70 miles to taste what was supposed to be great pizza. What a disappointment!!! The pizza was OK, but nothing to write home about. They charge about $20 for a pie that should be about $8 to $10.

The pie man behind the counter looked a little like "Pauly" from the Rocky movies complete with the hat. That was cute and added to the "charm". The waitress service was typical Brooklyn. Now I'm an old Brooklyn boy born and raised, but if you want good service... well go elsewhere!!!

Although the place is really not much more then a hole in the wall I must admit it was very clean. To use the restroom you need to walk through the kitchen. To my surprise both the kitchen and restroom were immaculate.

If you're in the area it's probably worth checking the place out just for history sake. But if you're looking for an unbelievable pizza experience don't go out of your way!!!
