Fantastic Sushi Without Having to Travel Downtown
I love this place. The service is great and the food is even better! I am so glad to finally have a restaurant in the NW area that has excellent sushi. I no longer have to trek downtown for the best! The option to eat at the hibachi grill adds another layer of fun for those in your party that may not like eating raw fish.

Bring patience, money and a hot date
I have gone here a few times with mixed experiences. Overall I like their sushi rolls. They have some creative and delicious rolls. The appetizers, like gyoza and tempura, are good. The teriyaki dinners are way overpriced. The worst item I had was the miso marinated tuna steak, which I ordered rare and it came out well done.

The wait staff and management is inexperienced. When I let them know my meal was not cooked to order, they just shrugged it off as if to say, "Better luck next time." I could have pushed my dissatisfaction more, but service was ultra slow that night and I was hungry, so I just ate it. Perfectly good waste of $25.

I have been back since and stick to the sushi rolls which are much harder to screw up. If you can tolerate below average service for decent rolls, I would say go for it. That said, I have had much better.

Decor is excellent. Nice place for a date.

best hibachi in area
I almost feel guilty straying from my regular hibachi place. Welcome Toro...we love you! The chefs always put on a great show. The food is so flavorful and delicious, we've had both hibachi and sushi! Great selection of rolls and will make whatever you ask them to...any kind of roll. The waitstaff is very friendly and always smiling. I realy like this place because it can be a great date night or you can bring your family. Ladies can dress up or go casual. Its nice to be able to dress up in the suburbs from time to time. The decor is kind of on the swanky side here..the bar is very dim and makes you feel like you're out on the town. Even if you don't eat there...you could always just go to the bar for a few drinks. This restaurant is much bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside. I have nothing bad to say about it.!

Awesome!
Been there twice already and am going again tomorrow. It's nice to have a good restaurant in this part of town. I'll probably never make the trip to Benihana again. I think the Hibachi chefs do a better show, and the food's very good. Very much worth the price and then some. It's great - give it a shot.

Good sushi but very slow and inexperienced wait staff
After reading the great reviews on this restaurant, we decided to go to dinner for my birthday. Place and ambience was nice. We did not sit on hibachi side and ordered from the menu. We ordered appetizers, two of us had sushi and two items from the grilled entrees.
The appetizers were very good (vegetable tempura and fried baby squid - my son believes this is one of the best calamaris he has eaten and he orders it whenever is on the menu at any restaurant!)
As far as the sushi, we ordered 2 rolls but ended up getting three (mistake of our waitress). They were good, especially the boston roll (lobster and caviar - very different from other lobster rolls i have had).
As far as the grill items, we ordered the only selection of shrimp they had, but were told by our waitress not to order since it was not very good and were still on the shells. The grill items we did order (teriaky chicken and beef) were not very good and lacked flavor - very bland.
Service was very very slow and it took about 30 minutes for the sushi to be brought to our tables after we had finished our appetizers and then another 10 minutes for the two grilled items. Since our waitress knew we were eating sushi as our dinner, I believe they should have waited and brought all of them together.
We asked for to-go box, since we had been served more than we intended to order. The waitress offered to box for us and 15 minutes later came to our table to tell us she had dropped all three plates. Two of them had more than half left on the plate! When I told her I expected to make new ones for us, she questioned whether we wanted all three of them. I was tempted to say yes, but we picked one of them and had to wait another 20 minutes to get our to-go box.
Although we liked the sushi, because of the service we probably will not return. This was on a Tuesday night, so I cannot even imagine what it would be like on weekends.
Rating is all for the sushi since I would give zero for the service.
