toasties if great breakfast great burgers and all around great service!!

Through these tough economic times, Toasties is on of the few local restaurants that has not changed their quality of food to make up for climbing costs.
I have eaten here for some 15-20 years. Through these years I have come to notice that Toasties has yet to lessen quality or slight you on product.
From the tasty breakfast specialties of homemade corned beef hash, the best french toast,awesome pancakes, eggs benedict to die for in at least 6 different ways, to their numerable tasty fresh lunches.
Very few places even offer Angus beef for burgers. Toasties Cheesesteaks ( 4 different ways) are the best i've tasted. From tuna to salads, Toasties quality far exceeds most places in Monterey County.
Though Toasties decor is a bit drab 80's, I can live with this as long as the good food and prompt service are in tact.

Terrific place to grab breakfast before a day at the aquarium or at the beach. The service was really good. (My coffee cup was always topped off) and the food was good. Portions are a little small but other than that I would definitely recommend.

Country style breakfast and lunches that will WOW your tastebuds! Everything from the the potatoe dishes to the huge omelettes, awesome fluffy pancakes, cheese blintzes( the best Ive ever had), fluffy sweet killer french toast!! and homemade corned beef hash for breakfast to the certified Angus Burgers, Best Philly Cheesesteaks(made 4 ways), Albacore tuna, and ' Fresh Chicken Breast' sandwiches (6 different ways) make this cafe a MUST to explore. The service was friendly and fast, and the food was delivered even faster!! How can a specialty Cafe serve such wonderful food at such a lightning fast pace?? I wish there were more of these Cafes around that serve such quality food, at the reasonable prices that Toasties does. The prices for such wonderful food are what you would assume from a big city Cafe. I would love to have a great Cafe like this anywhere in my area to dine every day! Big parties are a challenge, especially for the holiday weekends. Parties of 2 to 4 don't seem to be a problem anytime though. Reservations are not accepted, though calling 20-30 min ahead of time will put your parties name on the list, limiting your waiting time. If you are in the area, you must visit this specialty cafe! Absolutely the best country style cafe I have eaten at!! All of the food was fresh as well as great quality. Breakfasts range from great pancakes, killer french toast, meaty omellettes and breakfast burritos, huevos rancheroes to die for and about 6 different quality sausages to choose from. The bacon might be the best I've ever had, and the rest of the breakfast items are no slouches! For lunch, Toasties has a great selection of certified Angus Burgers, tostadas in beef or chicken, as well as a great selection of salads, homemade soups, and specials of the day. Service was very friendly and food was served as fast as you could expect. Every time I am in this area, I will definately frequent Toasties.
