I've been in chapel hill for a year and a half now. Last year I lived in Foxcroft apartments, a great value, and this year I moved to Timber Hollow which is on rt 86, and relatively close to franklin st. Timber Hollow has a great campus, a small but very nice swimming pool and the grounds are kept well maintained and clean, much more than I could say about Foxcroft. It's more expensive than a bare-bones place like Foxcroft but you get what you pay for. The apartments are certainly not new but maintained so well it doesn't really matter. For instance, this year the buildings just got a fresh layer of paint. Everything is in working condition and if you have a problem you make a call and it will usually be fixed quite soon. Maintenance requests have been serviced very fast for me, and there is a good online payment and service request website.
