Often times the prices at a thrift store rival those of retail pricing, I'm happy to report that this is not so at the Thrift Center. We visited last Friday and found the store to be well stocked, well priced and organized quite nicely. It does not have that funky thrift store smell either. The shelves were stocked full but not cluttered like other stores do.

The employees were friendly and helpful. When I asked to use the restroom they directed me to it, another plus for this store...many thrift stores don't offer restrooms to the public. On a side note the bathroom was clean and stocked with TP also....not what you expect at a thrift store either.

They carried used clothing, books, furniture, electronics, knick knacks and toys. The books were priced reasonable also and they were clean and looked like they had been wiped down before being placed on the shelves. The parking lot is large and can accommodate quite a crowd of cars without making it impossible to park. They accept donations in the back and I was told they take just about anything...to call if you questioned something.

The store environment was clean, well lit and they had Christmas music playing over the speakers, that made it quite cheery. I would highly recommend this thrift store to anyone in Merced county looking for a good deal and some green shopping.

The only negative thing I can think of is that the building looks a little run down from the outside so you get a bad first impression. It could do with a fresh coat of paint and perhaps some plaster work. The wall inside the store could also use some freshening up.
