My Brother & I looked at six skilled care nursing homes before visiting The Terraces Of Los Gatos. We wanted a clean, safe place for our Mother but more importantly we wanted a place where she would be respected and treated well. We were greeted by Wesley Sadumiano. He was professional while so very kind, caring & understanding as he walked us through admissions. Through out our Mothers stay he would ask us if we were happy with her care, reminding us that if we had any questions or concerns he would be happy to help. The staff at The Terraces exceeded our hopes in every way. They treated our Mother as if she were a member of their family. They invited and encouraged her to take part in each activity. Our hats are off to the great activity director, who filled each day with things to make people smile. Our Thanks to all of the nurse's .. they were not only quick to respond but responded with kindness. The Therapy team was excellent and they celebrated each achievement right along with us. We believe that our Mother's recovery was due to the wonderful care she received at The Terraces. On Saturday April 26, 2008 we brought our 89 year old Mother home. This morning April 27, 2008 she said "there's no place like home but I would like to go back to see everyone at The Terraces because they were so nice to me " I think my Mother's words speak volumes as to how she feels about the wonderful care givers and staff. If by chance your looking for a place for your loved one to stay or recover, please keep The Terraces in mind as it was a true blessing for our family.

The Terraces of Los Gatos appears on the outside as a respectable facility - clean and updated. However once you get inside and need to use their Health Care services the pleasant facade quickly fades. They are severly understaff and leave their patient/residents to fend for themselves, often you will hear patients yelling for Help because no one has responded. On a recent visit a new patient arrived and urgently needed help, she tried to call for help(via the call button), however no one responded, fortunately I was in the room visitng my Mom(her roommate) and I was able to fetch an aide. However this aide did not help the woman, instead she asked her to wait while she found the aide assigned to that room, who was taking a break. Finally the aide arrived, however if I had not been there who knows when/if he would have shown up. I know healthcare has declined in our country in recent years, and it's sad to see elderly people suffering in what is assumed to be a "quality-care" facility.
