My favorite pet boutique ever!

Very friendly vibe for pets and people too! Grab a cookie, collar and leash and dont forget that the tasty cookie is for Fido although you can eat it too! I have been to a lot of pet boutiques but The Modern Dog is by far one of the best!

This is such an adorable pet store -- a converted house redone impeccably! How can you not stop in a pet store where the posh pet beds are in the room that was once a bedroom and the canine cuisine is in the once kitchen? Plus, the wardrobe selection for your ridiculously spoiled pooch is PHENOMENAL! And what's an adorable pet store without two fabu pooches lounging around modeling the wares?! You MUST purchase the leather harnesses worn by these fabulous frenchies prancing around the shop - I got them for my Chis and they are seriously the best harnesses my dogs have ever worn -- they fit PERFECTLY! Ask the owners (who are also fabulous) about the story behind these harnesses, something to do with a fashion denim/jeans designer, I don't remember t exactly, but it translates to your dogs (like mine) will adore these harnesses. This shop is a must see for any pet owner - it's a complete treat to stop in and have a look and meet the fabulous owners - they are incredibly helpful, informative and sweet ~ their shop is not to be missed!!

Having traveled the world extensively and usually with my baby "Tokyo" in tow I was extremely thrilled to find a very special and unique selection of pet accessories in my own backyard at The Modern Dog in Venice, CA. If you are new to the area it is on the Westside and very close to the beach. The owners have done an amazing job sourcing the best travel and casual carriers, great clothing, collars and beds for the smallest and largest of animals and an actual kitchen chocked full of treats and bowls and anything you will need for your four legged family member. And, they are really nice guys!

Interesting, fun and design oriented dog and cat accessories. Collars, leashes, beds, toys, food and treats and so much more! Proprietors JoJo and Jock are equally fun and friendly and welcome all their visitors with a snort and a smile.
