Convenient, a possible good curriculum, caring teachers, and affordable. Those were the reasons for taking my child here not too long ago. Once being a preschool teacher myself, it seemed like great place at first glance. This school is totally off base with child development. They are more focused on academic achievement (and my money!) than the children's whole well being. Walking in unexpected, I found the teachers scolding and shaming the children into doing work, and even scolded my child for holding her beloved craft project. She wanted to keep it with her and she told me later the teacher grabbed it out of her hands! Teachers are supposed to teach and model NOT to grab. When doing their work, they looked bored, uninterested, and sometimes scared. They did not want to learn. How could they? Young children need to learn through play, and for those who had a hard time focusing their energy on the worksheets were forced to sit down on the bench during recess. Three and four year olds need to move to grow strong!
I am not great at confronting but I tried to open a little dialogue without them knowing of my own past experience. Unfortunately, whenever I tried to talk about this the teachers and director just brushed me off saying "this is good for them." I don't believe they really know how to teach young children. I'm sure many of them do not have a degree in it. I would look elsewhere if you want a more positive experience for you child's relationship with you, their teachers, their peers, and life and learning in general.
