Fraud "The Gordon Law Firm"
California Bar Association:
I am writing you about the unethical eperience I had with the Gordon Law Firm, Los Angeles. I was on-line and filled out a questionaire about home loan help per the Obama Plan for homeowners. I am 64 and retired; my wife, 67, still works.
The GLF called me with the promise that I qualified for a loan interest rate reduction from my present 7.4% to a low 3%. I told GLF up front that I was not behind on my mortgage payments at all, and that I was trying to repair my credit due a lot of credit card debt. GLF said I still qualified for the reduction. Also, my mortgage company (American Home Mortgage) had forced me to take a loan paying back taxes (two years). GLf said this was predatory lending and that they could do something about this , also. After a lot of conversations/ faxes with GLF, I agreed to their fee of $2500 (paid in three equal payments a month apart), which we could ill afford.
The process started with only receiving a form e-mail updated every 2/3 weeks. Then, after five to six month's of frustration, they informed me we didn't qualify and they could do nothing. I have requested a refund which J. C. Scruggs ( manager with GLF) refused.
I totally believe that GLF scams people into believing they can get help and then can't produce results.
If the California Bar Association can do anything about this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
