Blue Note Jazz Club is Great! by Dawn K. at InsiderPages
Famous Jazz musicians and artists perform in this intimate spot nestled in the village. Be sure to include this on your list of must do in New York - it's worth your time and your money ( a bit pricey). You will enjoy the food, drinks and sounds of great music that soothes the soul.

The Best Jazz by Eric K. at InsiderPages
Avishai Cohen (the bass player not the trumpeter), Hiromi Uehara, The Bad Plus. OK. I like less traditional stuff. But I know where to go to get it. The food, while expensive, as you might expect in NYC and at a high end jazz club, really tasted great. Every meal I've had during performances has been hot, cook right, and large enough to fill me up. While I may want to attend the Iridium Monday night for as long as Les Paul is willing to play there, it's the Blue Note that I'll turn to first for a great show every other day of the week.

Omarrr.....Omar Sosa
Great performance...... loved every minute of the Omar Sosa show.....it was a priviledge to watch this virtuoso perform his music with such pure joy ( very present ,in the moment ). The musicians in the band were each extremely versatile and talented.

I didn't have dinner at the club.... but I don't see anyone could say this place is "pricey" my friend and I paid $25 each for a great table about 10 feet from Omar Sosa and $8 bucks for a Heineken. I don't know where you come from...... but for the show we got thats not expensive at all !
The acoustics in the Blue Note are incredible..... its like listening to a live album on your ipod with Shure E5c earbuds. Omar said himself this place is like being in someones house.

Legendary Venue with Great Perfomers
I've been to Blue Note a few times. While it may be a bit pricey(what isn't in NYC), this is one of the premier jazz venues in the entire world. Everybody who's anybody has played this stage at one time or another. The acoustics are very good as well.

As far as the last review calling Ron Carter boring....hmmm. Maybe that person didn't catch the right show but Ron Carter is a legend and has played with everyone from Miles Davis to Bill Evans to even James Brown. The statement of, "while he is good on the Bass you don't usually hear alot of Bass solos." Once again........hmmmm. Almost every jazz show I've been to has a series of bass solos throughout the performance, some longer than others but still, that's jazz! Oh well, can't please everyone.
