The Barrel Room in Rancho Bernardo is nestled into the Bernardo Plaza Shopping Center. The menu is lovely and diverse. The ambiance in the restaurant is so nice. It is a great place to have a relaxing dinner or to have a fun mommies night out. I loved relaxing on the couches, sipping wine and eating cheeses. It may have been the company, or the wine, or being out without the kids, but every one had a fantastic time.

I have also been to The Barrel Room for dinner and my friend and I enjoyed a leisurely paced meal. We did not feel rushed as we lingered over our yummy sandwiches. We hadn't seen each other in a while so it was nice not to feel hurried out the door as we caught up on our lives.

The service was delightful. The server was well versed on both the food and wine menus.

Can't wait to try their sister restaurant URGE.

The Barrel Room by far has a great staff coupled with great food and wine selection. The wine is not over priced like many restaurants. Dinner for two and a great bollte of wine and out the door for about a hundred bucks. Many restauants of this caliber would require you to leave your first born child as payment. Have fun and enjoy the experience.

Food was reasonably priced and delicious- I had the 16oz steak. Cooked to order
The hostess was pleasant- Offered choice of seating, patio or bar due to 20 minute table wait. Patio was an excellent choice.
Waitress was very knowledgeable of menu, wines and beers.Offered water and drinks while we looked over our menu. Ordered calamari for an appetizer it was fair. Our order was taken promptly and the food arrived in a timely manner. Waitress recommended wine to go with meal. After appetizers table was cleared, utensils were replaced for the main course. Staff was professional and friendly. Waitress inquired if we were interested in having desert and if we want to purchase a bottle of wine to take home.
Restrooms were clean and well stocked. Spouse appreciated the decor of the restroom. The over all dining experience was excellent. I would diffidently return and recommend the Barrel Room to others.

I only ate there once but it was memorable. Wine selections are fabulous! Service was excellent and servers are knowledgeable about the wines available and is willing to suggest and recommend food choices.
