have been doing business at this location for over 20 years. I like walking in seeing familiar faces and being greeted by my name. I am impress by a business that take a personal interest in me. They are down to earth and very friendly and a close net family that will treat you like one of their own. I feel very comfortable getting loans here and as I walk out that door I know my valuables is in good hands. Sometimes when I am in the area, I just drop by and say hello. Drop by sometime ,you want regret it.

I used this shop twice - once I sold them several loose semi-precious gemstones (at a huge bargain). I have no complaints with that transaction. A few months later, I was in need of a quick loan and brought in two heirloom watches (one was 18K gold and the other was platinum and diamonds -- total value well over $20,000). My loan was only $800, but I had every intention of returning for my watches. On the final day, I was running late getting to the shop so I called to say that I was coming over. In case I was late, I asked if I could come in the morning and was told that I could. When I came in the next day, I was told that the owner had changed his mind and was keeping the watches. I called around and found out that it was standard practice by reputable pawn shops to allow a one month grace period. So I called the agency that issued the store's business license and filed a written complaint. All I had wanted to do was pay my loan and retrieve my watches. The licensing bureau contacted the store and I was advised later that I could go by the store and pick up my watches. So...I did -- and paid off the loan. However, they literally tried to steal my watches and would have gotten away with it had I not taken action. I happened to see the online listing for this store and felt that I had a responsibility to alert others to be careful when dealing with Texas Jewelry & Loan in Plano.

I walked in and found what I was looking for but was never acknowledged by anyone that worked there. I stood by the shotguns for 20min looking over the counter trying to figure out what they had and how they were priced.

No one that worked there said a word to me the entire time. I agree with other reviews that this place is dirty, messy, and smells like smoke.

OH MY GOSH! This place was behind the Home Depot in Plano (scary place after dark) and I decided to stop. Junk was scattered everywhere! Musty smelling, like old wet clothes and cigarettes! I did see a few things that caught my eye, but I was never even acknowledged when I walked in the door. So I did not even bother to haggle with them over their OUTRAGEOUS prices! Steer clear, and certainly do not go after dark!

My brother bought a Laptop in there, he really does not know anything about computers and he thought that it worked like a Best Buy or Circuit City. The lady that sold it did not even tested it for him. He paid 320$ and the computer's hard drive is bad. I went with him to see if we could a least get a store credit and the treated us badly, they even said that we might have broken the computer. Now we paid 320$ for a computer that does not work , They smoke in there smell bad. RUDE, RUDE, PEOPLE.
