I hired this company eight years ago to install a sprinkler system, lighting, plant trees on my property. They seemed nice enough and won the contract, but they kept running into troubles. First they installed an irrigation system that didn't work with the water pressure from our neighborhood, and instead of changing the system to work with the pressure, they insisted on installing a pump. The pump was noisy and burned out within a year, and was needlessly expensive. They planted all the trees wrong, with holes barely larger than the trees themselves, and seemed to not care when I pointed this out. They ended up dissappearing, not answering phone calls or showing up to finish the work for over a month, leaving behind ugly machines and unfinished work. Finally he showed up and gave us this song and dance about moving and some other nonsense, and didn't offer a refund for their mistakes. We finally got fed up and made them finish and didn't let them do any more work. We were very unhappy with the result and had to hire another landscape contractor to fix all their mistakes... and got a lot of the work redone for a fifth of the price. Don't waste your time!

mark tanabe was recommended to us by friends, and then we picked him out of 3 people we interviewed. Mark is great. He is fun and smart and cool, and really loves what he is doing which shows. He walked around, listened to our ideas, and then told us yes and no for all the right things. He came up with ideas for plants for our 2 decks by the pool and stairways etc, and he is great with e-mail - sent us lists with links to see pictures etc and we could iterate. we actually accepted all his ideas because he created a look that made sense as a whole but was not too staged. he came with 3 people and did it all in one day. we did trees, vines, flowers, and grassy plants, and we just coul dnot be happier.
