All of my dogs are working dogs, or dogs with a job. It varies from narcotic or bomb detection to search and rescue. We all love our pets, but mine also have years of highly specialized training and I am VERY CAREFUL who interacts with them. All that being said, Shay and company are absolutely stellar!!!
Over the past few years I have entrusted my dogs to Tails of the City for all of my grooming needs and for pet sitting. There are a handful of people that I would allow to watch or care for my dogs. I know Shay and staff do an excellent job because the dogs are always excited to go to the shop or to see the girls when they come to my house.
I have read all of the reviews and the one that was not so favorable, was an abberation. I telling anyone who reads this, straight up, there is not a nicer group of dog and cat lovers than Shay and her staff.
Is the shop a bit hetic at times? Probably, but that is because she manages a successful and busy shop with a long list of dedicated clients.
As I said, it is a short list of people who can take care, custody and control of my dogs, but Shay and her staff our at the top of the list.
I would not go anywhere else for any of the great services provided by Tails of the City.

Hannah, our old english sheepdog, was adopted and she has anxiety issues. She is not easy to groom. We appreciate how all the groomers have worked with her and have helped her feel safe. She always comes home looking beautiful.

We took our miniature poodle mix in for grooming and the cut was completely uneven and I had to buy scissors to fix it at home. They couldn't do her face saying she was too squirmy. If they're professionals, they should know how to deal with wiggly dogs! Plus, our little doggie was kinda traumatized from all the whining and barking of at least 15 other dogs in a tiny, hot little shop. The vibe in the shop is hectic, it took them a week to call us back to schedule an appointment, and the staff doesn't seem to like their jobs. Not recommended!

Shay and her team are wonderful. My two dogs love them. They even brush their teeth! The special equipment they use to wash the dogs removes dead skin and loose hair. My dogs shed less and they don't smell "doggy" as quickly as they do with a regular bath.

My mom drives from Vallejo to have her two dogs groomed there too. When my mom was in a car accident, they called to check on her and see if she needed help with her dogs. They offered to pick up, groom, walk, and drop off her dogs. Wonderful staff, full of dog lovers.

After trying nearly every groomer in town, I stumbled across Tails of the City. They were highly recommended by the ladies at my Hair Salon. Shay did a fabulous job on my two dogs!!
