Poor, untimely service, and terrible workmanship
I have taken 10+ items to Tailor's Touch in the past year. A brand new dress for a special occasion was one. They pinned me and we made a date for pick (the night of the event). I came to pick up my dress and they were still not finished (this happened on 2 separate occasions as well!!). When it was ready it was cutting into me, very worried I asked them how long it would take to fix and they said 20 mins. 45 mins later I did not try the dress on and left to go to my event. Needless to say they did a botch job on my dress and it was a total of $100!!! Having no experience then with sewing, I now realize they cut the band around the bust to let it out. The top of the strapless bodice falls over and exposes me. I then mistakenly took a jumper there as well to have shortened. They removed lining and made an uneven hem and the outfit looks nothing like its expensive self. PLUS it was not ready when it was to be and I waited (supposed to be leaving out of town) for 40 mins!! I finally thought I'd give them one more chance to fix the original dress and they refused to do it for free. The owner even claimed I had done something to the dress! I take things to the cleaners to sew buttons on :). I had to have it fixed else where for $50! My jean hems looked mediocre, but Nordstrom does a great job!

Best Tailor In Chicago
Oh wow! I'm shocked at the two reviews.

So I'm searching for my favorite spots and then I find Tailor's Touch! I am excited to find my favorite tailor on here.

I love the great service I receive and the quick turn around time. I'm a regular and I've done everything from my prom (oh yeah, since high school) to a few bridesmaid gowns.

My mom has been coming to Tailor's Touch since I was in high school and now we go together. You know what they say mom knows best. Raymond does excellent work and Ms. Mary does a fabulous job on all my dresses.

It does get busy on weekends but hey its a great place to meet single guys ladies while you wait. lol I've met a couple of guys there but that's another story, all I can say if you meet a man that tailor's his clothes thats a big plus lol

Oh and before I forget they do EXCELLENT JOB ON JEANS. They were rated #1 in chicago too.

I'm sorry the other reviewers had poor service. I dont have any complaints at all.

don't waste your money here
I brought in a pair of jeans to be hemmed and bridesmaid dress that needed minor alterations. The jeans looked nice but were a little too short. It didn't matter though because the very first time I wore them, the stitching on one of the legs completely unraveled! My husband actually tangled in the string at our party. Unbelieveable....
As for the bridesmaid dress, the seams were uneven. They took in the liner too much and didn't fix the outer fabric. After the 2nd round of alterations on the dress, I got so frustrated when it still looked sloppy. The seamstress actually tried to tell me that it was supposed to look like that! The dress looks worse than before and is uncomfortable. The fact that I paid $95 for that makes me sick to my stomach. I would go back and complain for the 3rd time but there is no easy way to get there and definitely no place to park. I was disappointed in the total lack of quailty in their work as well as customer service. I will never go back. Now I have to find someone to fix their mistakes.

Worst service ever, and completely overpriced
I had taken in approximately 10 items, including a bridesmaid dress, for alterations. After a 1.5 hour wait to get fitted, I was told to come back in 2 weeks. Two weeks later, I returned over my lunch hour, when rude help informed me that they could not find 2 of my items. After another 1 hour wait, I managed to leave with my clothes but did not have an opportunity to try them on after the extended wait. The next day, I realized that NONE of my items had been altered. I had to return yet again and face another 1 hour wait to get re-fitted, and was told that my items would be ready in a few days. Once again, I returned over my lunch hour, and only HALF of my items were ready. I waited another hour while they scrambled to finish tailoring my remaining items, including another top that had NO alterations done to it. After all of this, they told me that my bridesmaid dress would cost $350 to alter, refused to give me any discount for my trouble, and told me that I was welcome to take my business elsewhere. I did take my business elsewhere, and would highly advise all to take their clothes to other, more competent, and helpful tailors.
