This is one of our favorite places to eat in Houston! My husband and I usually get the "bento box" which allows you to try up to three different things on a nicely rounded menu. The sashimi is always fresh, and they have some of the best miso soup I have ever had. Try this place!‎

I am somewhat baffled by the great rating. The maguro was a bit gamey, the hamachi was so ice-cold I could not taste it. On the other hand, the miso soup was decent and the itchiban roll was quite good. Too many other good sushi places ...

I have been to quite a few sushi places around town, I would easily give Nikko only 3 stars compared to neighboring Aka Sushi given 4 stars because the interior is more plain and simple and because it still smelled a little bit of fresh paint. Other than that the Nikko is pretty much standard set of Westernized menu (I have been to Japan and ate authentic sushi and udon), standard modern-style interior, booths and bar.‎
